Careers at WHC

Be at the forefront of public healthcare!

We offer you the unique opportunity to innovate and shape the way healthcare is delivered. We have already begun work in our pre-operations wards located in the Yishun Health campus. We are looking for highly-motivated individuals from Medical, Nursing, Allied Health, Ancillary and Administrative fields, to JOIN US and be part of our rapidly growing healthcare family.

Nurses are the hearts and hands of WHC. You will use your skills to not only treat the sick and injured, but also offer guidance, psychological and emotional support to patients and their families. Together with a multidisciplinary team, you will play a leading role in providing compassionate and dignified care to our patients. You also have the opportunity to pass on your specialised knowledge by training caregivers to provide basic care, and educate patients and their families. Choose from several possible career paths in clinical, education and management to realise your full potential.

Muhammad Faiz

“The resilience of the human spirit is amazing. Some may think that nursing is a thankless profession but it can be very fulfilling if you know where to look. For example, in the wards, even though patients may be complete strangers, there is a sense of friendship and camaraderie as they encourage each other on their care journeys. I cannot help but be inspired myself.”
- Muhammad Faiz, Senior Staff Nurse

Agnes Wong

“I conduct home visits in the community and help make sure that they are able to manage their conditions well in the community. I enjoy building relationships with my patients and their families. There’s a great sense of satisfaction when you see that trust grow, and they open up to you about their lives. It’s a great opportunity for me to meet different people in the community. I’m not only helping our community care for themselves but learning from them at the same time.””
- Agnes Wong, Assistant Nurse Clinician

Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) are the key members of the multi-disciplinary care team for patients and their caregivers. From diagnostics to treatment, from counselling to social service interventions to rehabilitation, the Allied Health professions represent a diverse range of expertise – each playing an important role as part of a multidisciplinary team to help our patients recover, get back on their feet and be discharged home safely. AHPs may include dietitian, medical/laboratory technologist, medical social worker, occupational therapist, pharmacist, physiotherapist, podiatrist, radiographer, speech therapist and more.

Ng Suyee

“As a Physiotherapist I am able to interact with patients and be part of their rehabilitation journey. I don’t see myself as working for or on the patients, but with the patients as their personal life coach to help them regain a level independence and dignity. That is very meaningful for me. And when we see our patients recover, there’s an even greater sense of satisfaction.”
- Ng Suyee, Senior Physiotherapist

Medical Doctors maintain and restore the health of patients through the practice of medicine. Work with a multidisciplinary team to create treatment plans, provide advice and support patients on their care journeys. You will examine, diagnose and treat patients in your care. Medicine is a wide field with many specialty areas to choose from including Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT), Gastroenterology or Orthopaedic.

Dr Pinakin Vijaykumar Parekh

“My first major encounter with the healthcare sector was after my father developed heart trouble. I was humbled and inspired by the care shown by healthcare professionals to my family and me at the time. The experience helped me realise my calling to become a cardiologist. It was definitely one of the best decisions I ever made.”
- Dr Pinakin Vijaykumar Parekh, Consultant

Dr Chong Chern Hao

“As a kid, I was a member of the Red Cross in the school. Part of my duty was to patch up students who fell and injured themselves. A memorable experience was when I had to help a schoolmate who had fractured his wrist. It was frightening, exciting and nerve wrecking all at once. That sparked my curiosity and life-long passion for medicine.””
- Dr Chong Chern Hao, Consultant
